After four days, flights across Europe are still suspended as a result of Iceland's volcano eruption. This is the most extensive air travel shutdown since the terror attack of 9/11. Flights have been slashed by a quarter since the volcano's eruption last Thursday (15/4/2010), causing airlines to suffer hundreds of millions of dollars in daily damages.
