The military history of the European continent is long and storied, and if you visit the place there are lots of different locations where you can view that history for yourself. Many great conflicts have played themselves out in the European countryside, and many locations remain disfigured by the conflicts to this day. Germany is located in the heart of Europe. Historical events like the great Charlemagne and the Holy Roman Empire, the Otto von Bismarck's German Reich, Nazism, the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall, have given Germany a significant place in Europe's history.
