The uninhabited islands were discovered and colonized by the Portuguese in the 15th century; Cape Verde subsequently became a trading center for African slaves and later an important coaling and resupply stop for whaling and transatlantic shipping. Following independence in 1975, and a tentative interest in unification with Guinea-Bissau, a one-party system was established and maintained until multi-party elections were held in 1990. These days the islands are peaceful and great for a visit. Which site on Cape Verde would you most like to visit?

The in addition to the major North Island and South Island, the territory of New Zealand includes many other island groups, namely the Antipodes Islands, Auckland Islands, Bounty Islands, Campbell Island, Chatham Islands, and Kermadec Islands. Vanuatu is a group of islands in the South Pacific Ocean, about three-quarters of the way from Hawaii to Australia. Vanuatu is slightly larger than Connecticut, with 2,528 Kilometers of coastline.
